About Us

Calming Minds Clinic was created to provide a space where clinical expertise, genuine compassion, and ongoing support come together.

We understand that behind every enquiry is a parent seeking clarity, reassurance, and the very best support for their child. We provide specialist autism (ASD) and ADHD assessments for children, alongside counselling services across all ages, with additional family support and guidance delivered through our experienced, multidisciplinary team.

A clinically grounded, whole child approach

Our work is rooted in extensive NHS experience and follows recognised clinical guidelines.

The clinic is led by Suzanne Cole, an experienced NHS clinician and Company Director, who oversees the clinical approach, ensuring that all services are delivered with care, consistency, and integrity.

We provide private (independent) assessments as an additional pathway for families who are exploring different options to better understand their child’s needs.

Our autism and ADHD assessments are consultant-led and delivered within a multidisciplinary (MDT) framework, ensuring a robust, high-quality, and clinically sound process.

We believe that understanding a child goes beyond identifying specific difficulties.

We take time to consider:

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Developmental profile

  • Family context

  • School environment

This allows us to build a clear and balanced understanding, ensuring that any recommendations are practical, relevant, and supportive in everyday life.

Working together with families, schools & health professionals

We work closely with families and, where appropriate, schools to ensure a joined-up and collaborative approach.

Our aim is to provide not just answers, but clarity - helping families feel more confident in understanding and supporting their child.

We believe assessments and support should feel:

  • Calm, not just clinical

  • Supportive, not overwhelming

  • Thorough, not single layered

We take time to listen, to understand, and to ensure that each child and family feels heard and respected. In addition, every child has an administrative case-worker assigned from our incredible admin team.

We understand that this can feel like a big step, and we aim to make the process as calm, supportive, and reassuring as possible for both you and your child.

Support beyond assessments: why we’re different

As a clinic led by a clinician dual-trained in specialist nursing and psychology, we bring a unique perspective that integrates both clinical and emotional understanding.

Alongside assessment work, we also provide therapeutic support, drawing on a strong background in psychological therapies.

We have particular experience in supporting children and young people with challenges such as ARFID, grief, trauma, and more internalised presentations, where difficulties may be less visible but deeply felt.

For adults, we specialise in working with complex trauma (including complex PTSD) and supporting individuals in understanding and processing the impact of earlier life experiences.

This allows us to support families and individuals not only in gaining clarity, but in understanding what comes next - offering guidance, reassurance, and ongoing support tailored to each person’s needs.

Our team brings extensive experience and specialist knowledge in neurodiversity, family health, and child development, helping us take a thoughtful and well-rounded approach to care.

Healing starts here.
